We are committed to an inclusive culture and supporting a diverse workforce.Pay RangeCommensurate with experienceOverviewAs an Occupational Therapist at VHA, you will assess and provide consultation, recommendations, and interventions to a diverse group of pediatric clients in schools using evidence-based best practice. You will ensure coordinated delivery of care through ongoing communication with the client care team regarding plans and schedules for interventions, problem solve in collaboration with the client and care team to create opportunities for more independence and to promote VHA’s core beliefs and values.Key Areas of AccountabilityVHA's Occupational Therapists have the following key areas of accountability, but not limited to:Assess and implement occupational therapy interventions in accordance with professional practice guidelines and standards established by VHA and the perspective regulatory college.Implement client interventions based on assessment information, client input, and in conjunction with the client’s integrated care plan.Ensure that services provided are best practice, evidence-based and evaluated through the routine use of valid and reliable outcome measures.Ensure coordinated delivery of care through ongoing communication with all members of the client’s team regarding plans and schedules for interventions.Document all assessment findings, treatment plans, progress and discharge summaries of interventions as required by the profession, referral source and the organization.Support safe client care through continuous quality improvement and development of knowledge and skills in line with organizational principles.Required QualificationsDegree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized school of Occupational Therapy.Member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.Valid Driver’s License with access to a vehicleCompassionate and empatheticSelf-driven with ability to work independentlySkilled in caseload managementSkilled at electronic documentationAble to provide virtual careA registered ADP authorizer (asset)What makes VHA’s compensation unique?Benefits and pension plan for permanent eligible employeesCompensation for education and professional developmentVHA is a leading learning organization with comprehensive orientation and ongoing trainingMentorship and peer supportCareer development opportunitiesEmployee and family assistance programWellness resourcesPerks & discountsStaff & service provider eventsAccommodation and VHA’s commitment to DEIVHA is committed to being an Equal Opportunity Employer, promoting inclusion and diversity.
