Position Title: Advisor, Equity And Inclusion (English Services) (telework/hybrid) Status of Employment: Temporary Long-Term (Fixed Term) At CBC/Radio-Canada, we create content that informs, entertains and connects Canadians on multiple platforms. Our successes and accomplishments are driven by embodying and upholding values, which include creativity, integrity, inclusiveness and relevance. Do you think you have the ability and drive to keep up with this exciting, ever‑changing industry? Whether it be in front of the camera, on air, online or behind the scenes, you would be joining a team that thrives on making connections and telling stories that are important to Canadians. Why We Need You (The Job Purpose) You will be instrumental in driving forward CBC's mandate to reflect all of Canada's diverse voices and communities. This isn't just an advisory role; you will help translate our high‑level vision into day‑to‑day impact. You'll be responsible for driving the execution of our Equity & Inclusion strategy, providing strategic consultation to our senior leaders, and ensuring our English Services divisions are building truly inclusive teams and content. We need you to help us measure and achieve ambitious targets, such as increasing diverse representation in leadership and boosting overall inclusion scores. What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities) Strategy & Coaching: You will be part of the team rolling out our Equity & Inclusion strategy, serving as the go‑to subject matter expert, coaching business unit leaders, influencing their initiatives, and helping them embed inclusion into their everyday practices. Action & Policy: You will design, launch, and manage large‑scale programs and policies focused on creating a more representative workforce, develop and structure clear action plans, and ensure they actually get deployed across the organization. Data & Measurement: You will establish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs). This involves conducting data‑driven analysis of demographics, inclusion survey results, and pay equity to pinpoint systemic barriers and prove that our work is moving the needle. Learning & Development: You will curate, manage, and evaluate engaging learning programs (training and awareness activities) designed to reinforce a culture of equity & inclusion across all levels of the organization. Community & Voice: You will be an ambassador for CBC, identifying and building lasting partnerships with key external community organizations and vendors who are central to our mission. What You Bring (Essential Qualifications) A university degree in HR, Organizational Development, Social Sciences, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). 3 to 5 years of applied professional experience dealing with complex equity, diversity, and inclusion issues in a corporate workplace. A recognized EDI certification or designation (e.g., CCDI, Cornell, etc.) is preferred. Proven success in leading and implementing large‑scale initiatives that successfully promote diversity, accessibility, and inclusion. Your Expertise A deep, applied understanding of systemic barriers related to race, Indigeneity, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, culture, and their intersections. Strong Project Management and Change Management skills. You know how to create measurement frameworks and track progress toward EDI goals using real data. Your Style You're an excellent communicator, facilitator, and mediator, comfortable navigating sensitive conversations and building consensus across diverse stakeholder groups. You have a collaborative, team‑oriented, and proactive leadership style. You have the ability to listen and empathize with colleagues who are learning about E&I issues, providing supportive guidance regardless of their current level of knowledge. You're effectively working both independently and as part of a matrixed team. Nice‑to‑Have (Assets) Experience designing and delivering educational programs (with vendors or internally). The Logistics Schedule: Full‑time, generally 9 am to 5 pm ET. Location: Hybrid work arrangement (a mix of in‑person and remote). Travel: Occasional travel within Canada may be necessary. Autonomy: This role carries a high degree of influence. You will provide functional leadership to working groups and have the authority to make key vendor recommendations and final policy suggestions to the Senior Manager. Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing. We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. Background Check A mandatory Criminal record check. Other background checks may be conducted based on the operational requirements of the position.
