Would you like to take on a stimulating, high‑impact challenge? We are looking for a Senior Advisor, Community Relations (QC). The role Reporting to the Community Relations Manager in Quebec, the Community Relations Advisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day implementation of citizen engagement plans and other consultation activities aimed at supporting project development. The role includes developing and maintaining close relationships with local stakeholders, including interest groups and individuals interested in or potentially affected by the project. In collaboration with consultants, the advisor provides a concrete plan, ensures strategic advice on various project‑related issues and opportunities, and guides the development/implementation of appropriate consultation activities. The Responsibilities Identify and analyze the specific needs/issues/aspirations of communities with a view to helping harmonize relations with Alto in a sustainable manner. Advise management on all local issues and opportunities related to the project. Enhance and implement citizen participation plans. Establish and maintain regular contact with regional partners. Act as a liaison, i.e., establish and maintain dynamic channels of communication with regional community organizations. Represent the Project at various regional events. Guide the Media Relations and Internal Communications team in developing the communication tools needed for consultations and representation efforts in general, and then review them. Coordinate the logistics and deployment of consultation activities with external consultants. Prepare regular reports on community engagement activities, their results, and next steps. Rigorously document consultation processes and efforts within the Borealis platform. The Requirements Bachelor's degree in communications, administration, political science, urban planning, or any other field related to the position. Minimum 8 years of experience in communications and community relations, or in related fields of expertise. Experience in managing relationships with various partners in project management and/or public consultation and participation. Knowledge of socio‑economic issues in Quebec and Ontario. Knowledge of the functioning of municipal political and administrative structures in Quebec. Mastery of the workings of political mediation. Able to travel to different communities between Quebec City and Toronto, sometimes for stays of several days. Availability and flexibility to participate in consultation activities (some evenings and weekends during consultation periods). Strong integrity. Bilingualism (French and English), spoken and written. Skills Ability to easily establish and maintain good relationships. Ability to simplify complex concepts, communicate them clearly in public, and write well‑crafted texts that demonstrate this ability. Proven ability to establish and maintain trusting relationships with diverse communities. Ability to remain calm in intense or potentially hostile situations. Strong ability to produce high‑quality deliverables for partners, the public, or senior management. Experience with regulatory processes (federal and/or provincial), such as those of the Canadian Impact Assessment Agency (CIAA) or the Bureau des audiences publiques en environnement (BAPE) in Quebec (an asset). Knowledge of the public transit and rail transportation sectors and their specific issues (an asset). Knowledge of the Borealis platform (an asset). Why join our innovative team?
