Sr Web Engineer [Remote - Canada] – Skip Overview Skip continually looks for high performers who are excited to join an entrepreneurial team dedicated to revolutionising food ordering and the delivery industry. As a front‑end engineer you will help evolve and scale our product by building high‑quality web applications and advancing the customer web platform. Responsibilities Build and maintain the customer web platform using React.js, Redux, GraphQL, TypeScript (Strict mode) and Node.js. Develop responsive, accessible, and high‑performance web applications that meet internationalisation and localisation requirements. Collaborate with product, design, and QA teams in an agile environment, continuously improving and delivering new features. Mentor junior team members on best practices, new technologies and code standards. Apply state‑management patterns, test coverage and build‑tooling (Webpack, Babel, Yarn) to ensure code quality and maintainability. In‑Depth Skills (Recipe for Success) Experience with component‑based frameworks/libraries, primarily React.js but familiarity with Vue.js, Angular or Svelte is a plus. Strong knowledge of state‑management systems; current use of Redux and related middleware. Proficiency in CSS pre‑processors (SASS/SCSS) and/or CSS‑in‑JS libraries. Experience with quality assurance, unit testing, integration testing and end‑to‑end testing (Cypress/Playwright). Knowledge of REST principles, API consumption and GraphQL. Familiar with modern build tooling and containerization (Webpack, Babel, Yarn, Docker). Proficient version control with Git and platforms like GitHub or Bitbucket. Comfortable with agile practices, continuous delivery and iterative improvement. Strong verbal and written communication, problem‑solving and attention to detail. Bonus Skills Background in NodeJS (servers, lambdas, scripts). Experience with GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing. Exposure to AI coding assistance and automated test suites. Knowledge of AWS services (CloudFront, Lambda, ECS). Experience with Next.js and server‑side rendering. Why Work at Skip?
