This role is instrumental in advancing design architecture and enhancing technology capabilities in line with industry advancements. It also presents a unique opportunity to shape the future, build impactful solutions, and have meaningful influence on the organization’s direction. Additionally, the AI Strategy & Data Science Lead serves as a key advisor to senior leaders, providing guidance and governance to technology teams and business areas across the organization.What You’ll DoRecognized as an internal and external expert in specific domain(s) within the organization; spends the majority of the time on technical issues.Sets the direction and oversees the work of other IT professionals as assigned on complex, highly visible projects of significant profile, strategic importance, and enterprise impact to TC Energy.Recognized as an internal expert within the broad data science field and may have specialized expertise within multiple domains.Provides consultative and strategic guidance to business partners.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's or Graduate degree.Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering) or 15+ years relevant experience.Preferred Qualifications15+ years of experience working with product and data science partners.5+ years of experience in delivering real‑world AI solutions: recommendation systems, predictive models, fraud detection, personalization, GenAI, LLM fine‑tuning, etc.5+ years of experience working with Product and Data Science partners in developing ML solutions.Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, deep learning, natural language processing, etc.5+ years of experience with MLOps & Productionalization: expertise in model lifecycle management (data versioning, model registry, CI/CD, drift monitoring, retraining pipelines) from an AI lens.5+ years of experience with big data engineering.5+ years of hands‑on experience with AI/ML platforms on Azure ML or AWS SageMaker.Strong familiarity with MDLC including model training, evaluating, and deploying models using ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, AWS Bedrock.About Our BusinessWe are a leader in North American energy infrastructure, spanning Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.
