Financial Planner – Fredericton – TD Securities Location: Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada Hours: 37.5 per week Line of Business: TD Wealth Pay: $60,000 – $70,000 CAD plus commission-based earnings. Base pay may vary based on experience, location and business needs. Job Description TD Wealth uses a sophisticated, holistic goals discovery approach to wealth planning and protection to deliver highly personalized advice, solutions and service. The Financial Planning team builds relationships, provides comprehensive financial planning, and offers a legendary customer experience. Identify clients’ life and financial goals, provide comprehensive reviews and build long-term relationships through financial planning expertise, relationship building and ongoing services. Conduct reporting and relevant analysis to draw conclusions, make recommendations and continually assess the effectiveness of programs, policies and practices. Contribute to team and department goals while strengthening customer service and dedication. Monitor service productivity, assess efficiency and implement continuous improvements. Stay knowledgeable of best practices, procedures and emerging trends. Acquire and apply expertise, provide mentorship, assistance and direction to others. Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by aligned risk appetite. Participate fully as a team member, supporting a positive and service-oriented work environment. Educational Requirements University degree (preferred). 3–5 years in the financial services industry managing client relationships, providing financial advice and tailored investment solutions (preferred). Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or CFA Level 1 (or higher) required before start date. Complete Conduct & Practices Handbook (CPH) within first 90 days. CIRO Registered Representative (RR) license within first 90 days. Complete Wealth Management Essentials (WME) within first 30 months. Achieve Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation within first 3 years. CFP Eligibility requirements: University degree OR meet one of the following: Up to 10 years of qualifying work experience. Have been a QAFP professional in good standing for a minimum of 5 years at the time of applying. Skills You Will Require Passion for financial planning and a drive to help clients reach their financial and life goals. Entrepreneurial spirit to prospect external business development opportunities through networking and experience in high-value sales and business development. Deep understanding of the industry, competitive landscape, economic market issues and the regulatory environment. Excellent people and problem-solving skills to build and maintain client relationships. Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and independently, and to provide assistance and build relationships.
