Role Overview The VP, Finance will oversee financial strategy, corporate accounting, and the operational scalability of the finance and accounting department. You will lead systems improvements and process optimization to increase the overall efficiency of financial operations, oversee financial reporting, treasury, tax and compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and support M&A activities. Responsibilities Financial Strategy & Leadership Lead and support the Finance team in successfully executing strategic deliverables to achieve organizational growth initiatives. Collaborate with FP&A leadership on financial analysis and forecasting, providing meaningful information for decision‑making. Assess capital allocation and investment strategies to maximize returns and ensure financial sustainability. Manage relationships with financial institutions and external advisors. Support M&A activities, including due diligence, financial structuring for acquisitions and partnerships, and post‑close integration efforts. Identify opportunities for enhanced reporting, cost savings and operational improvements. Operational Finance & Business Scalability Implement a scalable financial infrastructure to support growth, international expansion, and acquisitions. Lead and innovate with the Finance Operations and Corporate Accounting teams to develop and implement processes and workflow improvements via automation. Champion data integrity of financial related information across interconnected systems; identify areas of risk and develop solutions. Collaborate with Internal Controls to design internal tests and audits on the financial processes to boost operational efficiency and strengthen controls. Corporate Accounting & Financial Reporting Own the financial reporting cadence, ensuring accuracy and rigor of financial results, and explain financial narratives to stakeholders. Drive robust financial reporting capabilities by implementing appropriate revenue and expense tracking methodologies. Identify exposure from complex accounting transactions and implement best practices to reduce risk. Manage and forecast cash flow to support business operations. Tax & Compliance Ensure financial and tax compliance across Canada, USA, UK and the EU, including VAT and transfer pricing positions. Optimize tax structures, treasury functions and cross‑border financial strategies to maximize profitability. Enhance sales tax compliance by implementing appropriate software solutions. Own the end‑to‑end financial audit process, including relationships with external auditors and tax advisors. Own lender compliance reporting, including covenant forecasting. Requirements CPA with at least 10 years of progressive finance leadership at technology companies, with M&A and integration experience. Strong track record of leveraging technology and automation to streamline finance operations and controls, preferably with experience in ERP implementations; NetSuite and Salesforce knowledge is an asset. Ability to influence C‑level executives and cross‑functional teams, ensuring financial strategy aligns with business objectives. Proven ability to build, lead and mentor high‑performing finance, accounting and operations teams in a fast‑paced, scaling environment. Forward‑looking and growth‑oriented mindset with an ability to anticipate financial challenges and opportunities. Data‑driven and commercially minded, understanding process flows and combining insights with strategic thinking. Experience managing multi‑entity, international financial operations, including M&A and cross‑border investment strategies. Deep expertise in establishing and maintaining processes, internal controls, risk management practices and audit readiness.
