Responsibilities

  • Create innovative tools to enhance business value.
  • Explore and implement cutting-edge actuarial and insurance techniques, sharing insights and outcomes with the broader organization.
  • Analyze performance data to refine underwriting strategies and collaborate with stakeholders for actionable outcomes.
  • Conduct pricing reviews across various business lines as prioritized by the organization. This includes, but is not limited to, developing rate projections, analyzing loss ratios, performing competitive evaluations, completing regulatory filings, and calculating impacts using actuarial methods, data analytics, and advanced statistical techniques like GLMs.
  • Perform in-depth research and data analysis to address informational needs across all business segments.
  • Research and implement cutting-edge analytics tools and methodologies to drive business value.
  • Effectively utilize the organization’s policy administration and claims systems, along with their underlying data structures.
  • Collaborate with regulators to submit and complete mandatory filings, particularly in the auto sector.
  • Continuously design, refine, and improve analytical tools for data summary and distribution.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain the company’s data marts for all business lines, aiming to introduce self-service capabilities for internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Completion of 4 to 6 exams from the Casualty Actuarial Society.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an actuarial or data analysis role, ideally within the P&C insurance sector or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency in SAS, SQL, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Emblem software is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of P&C pricing and ratemaking principles.
