This Posting includes Multiple Work Assignments: Yes Number of Available 0.25 (35 hour) Work Assignments: 0 Number of Available 0.5 (70 hour) Work Assignments: 3 Number of Available 0.75 (105 hour) Work Assignments: 0 Number of Available Full 1.0 (140 hour) Work Assignments: 0 Work Assignments at Greater than 1.0 Anticipated # of Available Work Assignments at Greater than 1.0: 0 Total Number (Load) of Assignment(s) Available: 3 Duties and Responsibilities Orientation-Training Preparation Student Consultation Conducting Labs/Seminars Invigilating Exams Grading Maintain documentation of student safety training. Work in collaboration with instructors to monitor student practice and provide feedback during live animal laboratories, which involve student practice with live animals (large and small), as well as with teaching models. Additional hours in the barn to support independent student practice outside of scheduled laboratory sessions. Provide formative feedback through real-time completion of assessment rubrics. Maintain student skills-training records. Facilitate organization and delivery of final course OSCEs (Objective Structured Clinical Exams). Qualifications Required Qualifications: Must be enrolled as a graduate student. Demonstrated ability to safely and humanely handle large animal species (horse, cow, sheep). A thorough knowledge and ability to perform physical examination of common domestic species (dog, cat, sheep, horse and cow). Documentation of an adequate antibody titre against rabies measured within the past two years. Preferred Qualifications: Applicants with a DVM degree will be given priority. For equally qualified DVM applicants, preference will take into consideration type(s) and extent of past large animal experience. Training in teaching, communication, giving feedback, and/or assessment would be an asset. Preference will also be given to applicants with past experience teaching in VETM*3430/3440/4870. Days Required and Wages Days and Times Required: DVM Schedule Handbook. Variable hours based on DVM Phases 1 – 3 course schedules (laboratories run at various times M – F, 8:30am – 5:30pm). A full schedule will be provided at the start of the work assignment.
