Manager, Operations (Facilities Services) EllisDon is seeking a Manager of Operations in Facilities Services based in Cold Lake, AB. The role focuses on day‑to‑day facility operations, fostering a safe environment, and delivering high quality maintenance throughout a large construction project. Responsibilities Establish a productive work environment to attain all set objectives. Perform administrative and operational activities in accordance with the Statement of Work and General Conditions set out by the Contract Authority (DCC) and EDFS. Manage day‑to‑day operations and the Health & Safety program. Work with employees, EDFS support, and key personnel to ensure maintenance, AWRs, etc. are completed within budget and operational standards, including Key Performance Indicators. Critically review work orders, invoices, packing slips, CMMS, etc. to determine accuracy and conformance to contractual commitments. Represent EDFS at meetings with the Contract Authority (DCC). Inspect job sites to ensure conformance of Sub‑Contractors and site employees to established facility policies and practices. Ensure compliance with corporate policies and mandates of local, provincial, and federal agencies. Act as the HSE Rep and uphold health, safety and quality management programs. Manage all sub‑trades, workers and suppliers, ensuring that they perform according to their contract. Ensure contractual obligations at the facility are met on time and on budget. Maintain safe, effective and functional facilities by directing the installation, maintenance and repair of machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems. Identify current and future maintenance requirements in partnership with the Contract Authority and technicians. Coach and mentor maintenance staff to safe work practices, quality workmanship, productivity and schedule. Align maintenance crews with supervision and provide daily work instructions within the area of supervision. Ensure coverage for all shift rotations. Assess the needs of equipment and materials and coordinate with the Contract Authority to obtain any required items for corrective maintenance or AWRs. Track and report daily progress against the CMMS events; regularly communicate work progress to the Area Manager, schedule variance, crew and safety performance. Provide guidance and support to staff within the area of responsibility. Approve and submit any invoice / timesheets to the appropriate project. Handle rotating on‑call periods, such as responding to emergencies, after‑hours issues or covering shifts. Qualifications 8+ years’ experience including 3+ years’ in a supervisory capacity. Extensive knowledge of building maintenance and construction practices and methods. Extensive knowledge of standard skilled trade operations and repair methods. Formal facilities management training or a Trade certificate would be an asset. Ability to plan and direct the work of skilled and semi‑skilled workers. Ability to identify issues and generate solutions. Ability to inspect building maintenance and project work for adherence to plans, specifications and work orders. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Contract Authority and members of the FM team. Proven time‑management skills and a strong attention to detail. Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office, CMMS software. Ability to perform duties that vary frequently according to assignment. Must possess a Class 5 driver’s license. Eligible to obtain or possess a Reliability Clearance. Position is located in Cold Lake, AB.
