Technical Lead and ERP Architect - ERP Implementation and Transformation Job Description Mackenzie Health is embarking on a multi‑year modernization of its human resources, finance, and supply chain services to implement a new Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP). The ERP program is a pillar of enabling exemplary corporate services functions that will provide a backbone of support for the entire hospital. These services play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources, enabling high‑quality care and ensuring Mackenzie Health complies with ever‑changing regulations. Corporate services transformation is at the forefront of the organization’s priorities to create a more agile, responsive, and efficient system. We are seeking an experienced individual to play a key technical lead role in this ERP project, focusing on providing leadership, guidance, and expertise on the selection and implementation of the new ERP system. The successful candidate will ensure that the new system is stable, malleable to accommodate the changing needs of the organization, and will lead the architecture of a cloud‑native application and infrastructure to drive industry‑leading practices. Primary Responsibilities Provide leadership and innovative thinking, assign tasks, identify, track, and remove blockers (risks, issues), and ensure sufficient resourcing is available to complete tasks. Plan the ERP system architecture and modernization multi‑year architecture strategies/roadmaps to deliver cost‑effective, scalable, and reliable systems, working with vendors and internal teams to: Assist with the migration to a new cloud‑native ERP. Enable mobility, integration, and APIs for the ERP. Target, transition, and future architecture and environment plans. Address customization items. Design user experience and portals. Drive change management and user adoption. Act as the technical liaison between technology and business, coordinating and collaborating with cross‑functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors for the smooth functioning of the ERP system. Manage the ERP end‑to‑end data architecture, design the architecture with the vendor, and lead on customization items. Integrate technical functionality, ensuring data accessibility, accuracy, and security with the vendor. Define architecture and technology standards, patterns, and best practices for the ERP. Identify and track assumptions and constraints, ensuring program methodology and standards are adhered to. Identify tasks and assist in creating, coordinating, and executing program work plans and deliverables, revising as appropriate. Lead the team, in conjunction with the vendor, for technical requirements, procedures, and infrastructure. Support ongoing decision‑making and adherence to program timelines. Create, review, and approve program deliverables, ensuring high quality and alignment with program standards. Provide updates to the Director of ERP Implementation & Transformation regarding deliverable, task, and sprint completion levels. Champion change, promoting and educating the team on best practice adoption for technology, program methodology, program RACI, program governance, and program strategies. Continually seek opportunities to increase stakeholder satisfaction and strengthen stakeholder and vendor relationships by: Developing and promoting a collaborative working environment with staff through strong positive relationships. Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with vendors. Adopt a “one team” approach: Work cross‑functionally and collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to ensure program success. Ensure workshops have appropriate team members and stakeholders. Work with team members and the Director to ensure deliverables are completed, KPIs are met, and communications are ongoing. Execute testing and/or aid with testing as assigned, creating and updating test scripts. Participate in procurement activities that may include RFPs and quotes. Develop or contribute to business cases for new technology solutions. Demonstrate commitment to efficiency and continuous improvement through innovation and best practices during and after implementation. Plan continuous rollout and growth of roadmaps and strategies developed during implementation. Stay abreast of current and emerging technologies. Conduct technology activities related to monitoring, vendor assignment, troubleshooting, and troubleshooting. Drive technology solutioning and decisions for the assigned stream. Advise on technical architecture changes, compliance, and alignment with business objectives. Review and provide insight to functional design documents, ensuring consistency of documentation of integrated solutions. Ensure compliance with architecture standards, patterns, and best practices. Lead designs and optimization of application and integration strategies for cost‑effective delivery of scalable and reliable distributed systems. Manage product end‑to‑end data architecture and design the technical architecture. Advisably develop metrics related to system efficiency improvements, user satisfaction, and process optimization. Coordinate release management activities. Monitor and interpret trends and best practices for ERP architecture, advising the Director on future development opportunities and impacts. Conduct research and prepare ad‑hoc reports for the Director of ERP Implementation & Transformation. What must you have? Post‑secondary degree in Information Technology Management, Computer Science, or a related combination of education and experience. What else do you bring? 7+ years of experience as an Architect with ERP application technology solutions, covering applications, APIs, systems integration, data, and cloud. Experience managing local and/or cloud architecture including system integration, data, and database architectures. Experience with agile and interactive architectures. Ability to simplify complex concepts into tangible plans. Plan and lead the work of technical team members. Experience with infrastructure, networking, and security in cloud‑based delivery models. Experience architecting and operating solutions on Azure, GCP, or other cloud platforms. Experience in program and project scoping and planning with Agile processes and tools. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including writing skills, for working with individuals and teams at all levels. Strong leadership skills. Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and drive initiatives in a dynamic environment. Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and time‑management skills. Capability to multi‑task and manage competing priorities while managing stakeholder expectations. Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
