Senior Category Development Manager, Proteins role at Groupe Compass Quebec ltée. Job Summary As the Senior Category Development Manager, Proteins, you will own the strategic development of category plans within your area of responsibility, lead category sourcing initiatives, and drive continuous improvement to maximize value for Foodbuy and the end‑customers. Responsibilities Participate in overall purchasing business plan and own the strategic development of category plans within your area of responsibility to deliver overall business objectives. Remain current on industry trends and identify new strategic initiatives for sustainable growth, sales, and profitability. Lead and conduct quarterly business performance reviews with key stakeholders and suppliers; conduct tactical negotiations and manage supplier rationalization programs. Provide day‑to‑day and long‑term project management of assigned category activities and initiatives for Foodbuy. Communicate with procurement and distribution to ensure a robust understanding of the marketplace and continuously update clients on issues and opportunities. Use formal analysis tools such as cost models and portfolio analysis to manage categories and suppliers. Implement new supplier programs and lead project management and implementation of these programs. Support specialty projects or other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing and supply chain management in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines. Post‑secondary education diploma/degree in purchasing or related studies. Excellent strategic planning skills and strong analytical abilities. Proven negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal). Computer proficiency, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management.
