We are recruiting a GIS Specialist to join our team for projects near Fort McMurray, AB. The GIS Specialist will be responsible for providing Geographic Information System (GIS) support across various projects. This role involves the collection, analysis and interpretation of spatial data to assist in the project planning, design and execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS applications, geospatial data management and experience in the civil construction industry.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, manage and maintain GIS databases and ensure the accuracy and integrity of geospatial data.Create detailed maps and visualization to support project planning, design and decision-making process.Analyze spatial data to provide insights and recommendations for project development including site selection, environmental impact and resource management.Collaborate with Project Managers and other stakeholders to integrate GIS data into project workflows.Manage the spatial aspects of civil construction projects including land use, zoning and environmental constraints.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to geospatial data and mapping.Provide GIS training and support to project teams as required.Stay updated on the latest GIS technologies, tools and best practices and recommend improvements to current processesAssist in the preparation of reports, presentations and documentation for project stakeholders.Support field survey teams by drafting redline drawingsRequirementsDegree or diploma in Geography, Geomatics, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or a related field.Minimum 2 years of experience as a GIS Specialist, preferably in the civil construction industry.Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Desktop for managing, processing, and analyzing geospatial data.
