Position Summary Provides home support services to clients such as assisting with activities of daily living, performing delegated tasks for which transfer of function training has been completed, planning and preparing meals, and light housekeeping. Paid travel time between clients. Mobile device and three uniforms provided. Position Responsibilities Follow care plans and maintain accurate client records using the appropriate documentation. Maintain effective relationships with clients, promoting physical and emotional independence. Understand accountability and expectations associated with transferable skills and delegated tasks. Effectively communicate changes in client condition to your supervisor and collaborate with team members. Proactively identify and promote client safety, seeking support from the Nurse Supervisor when responding to medical and ethical dilemmas. Qualifications Required Certified Community Health Worker (CHW) or Health Care Aide (HCA) with BC Care Aide Registry. Experience in healthcare. Current First Aid (Standard) / CPR Certificate (Level C). Valid driver’s license and vehicle preferred. Current immunization record (TB test completed within the past 12 months) required upon hire. Current vulnerable sector check screening required upon hire. Availability to work days or evenings, including weekends. Ability to work independently and as part of a team with excellent organizational skills. Well‑developed interpersonal and customer service skills for effective communication with clients. Effective problem‑solving and conflict management skills. Basic computer/smartphone skills an asset. A physically demanding position requiring hand, arm and shoulder dexterity, lifting to a maximum of approximately 55 pounds, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement.
