Location: Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week (subject to change). This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa or from one of our Community Hubs located in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Brossard, Laval, Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, or Vancouver. Team Overview The Portfolio Oversight & Governance Team assesses, monitors and reports on enterprise-wide portfolio exposures, portfolio health and compliance with limits and risk appetite statements. It manages policies, standards and procedures for the Risk Management Office and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the stability and health of EDC’s financial activities. We are looking for experienced professionals with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. The Principal and the Senior Advisor, Portfolio Oversight & Governance report directly to the Director, Portfolio Oversight & Governance. What You Will Be Doing Develop and implement effective portfolio risk and performance tracking for all lines of business, including early warning risk indicators, and aggregate results at the enterprise level. Assess, monitor and report on relevant Risk Appetite Statements and Enterprise Risk Management Framework measures, limits and thresholds across all lines of business. Develop, maintain and ensure compliance of the Risk Management Office’s policies, standards, and procedures and align them with ERM directives. Support the preparation of the financial section of the Integrated Risk Report and associated senior management and board-level insights. Communicate material developments within the enterprise-wide portfolio to the Director and VP, RMO. Manage collaborative relationships with lines of business, the Global Risk Management Group, and Finance Group to optimize risk data, reporting and analytics. Identify and collaborate on opportunities to improve portfolio analytics, leveraging AI and robotics. Provide expert insights and industry best practices to support strong risk management practices. Support the Portfolio Monitoring Committee by managing meeting agendas, preparing materials and tracking resolution of action items. Conduct research on evolving issues and trends in the risk management arena. Principal (Portfolio Risk Management 20) – Additional Responsibilities Has significant depth and breadth of knowledge in portfolio management practices, including credit and non-credit issues, and helps define risk appetite and optimal portfolio composition. Leads portfolio management practices, including gathering, analysis, and effective communication of data with presentations to relevant committees and boards. Leads the impact assessment scenario analysis and market events on EDC’s activities. Maintains a network of internal and external stakeholders and leverages it to enhance management of EDC’s portfolios. What We Are Looking For Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration or a related field. Experience in portfolio management, credit risk management and international trade or related fields. Portfolio Risk Management 19, 9+ years of experience. Portfolio Risk Management 20, 12+ years of experience. Knowledge of risk management principles and practices. Knowledge of EDC’s guarantee programs, insurance programs, investments program and/or corporate lending principles and practices. What Will Make You Stand Out Advanced knowledge of lending, insurance and private equity with a risk-reward control perspective. Comprehensive understanding of risk management analytics, scenario analysis, advanced statistical and machine learning models. Experience working in a financial services and/or Crown corporation environment. Bilingual in both official languages (English and French).
