Our Edson division in Edson, Alberta, is recruiting for a Journeyperson Benchman.As the Industrial Journeyperson Benchman, you will be a key player in our continuous maintenance improvement program through daily troubleshooting and preventative maintenance strategies. You will work up to a shift millwright in the sawmill to troubleshoot and repair production equipment and maintain uptime in the facilities during production shifts.You'll DoMaintenance of work place and saw filing safetyAchieving production targetsInspecting, maintaining, and calibrating precision equipmentAdherence to filing shop quality control standardsTroubleshooting and examining saws for defectsManagement of saw box water and lubricationYou HaveAbility to work in a team environment or independently with little supervisionExperience benching round saws and band saws (e.g. repairing, tensioning, leveling, tipping, sharpening)Knowledge of functionality, maintenance, and alignment associated with a Canter, Band Rig, Trim Saw, Gang Saws, Edgers, and ChippersAbility to service and supervise all aspects of saw maintenanceUnderstanding of preventative maintenance processes related to saw shop and sawmill machineryTechnical understanding of the manufacturing and servicing of saws, guides, and chipping knifesSchedule flexibility – as work will require day, evening, and weekend shiftsHold a Saw Filer certification and a Journey Benchman Trade Ticket.Compensation PackageCompetitive SalaryOutstanding benefits package including medical, dental, pension, life insurance, disability, accident insurance, vacation, and holidaysRelocation PackageYour Workplace LocationExperience the allure of Edson, Alberta, with this exciting opportunity in the heart of Yellowhead County.
