Head/Dy GM – Mining Operations

OverviewManage and oversee complete Mine operation and actively involved in the following:Prepare and communicate weekly mine plans and schedulesCommunicate daily plans to Supervisors and SurveyorsDesign drill and blast patternsMonitor drill and blast performance and identify areas for improvementsDevelop long term mine plans and schedulesSupport in preparing annual budget for Mine OperationsMaintain up to date pit and waste dump designsManage various construction projects on site related to miningMonitor costs and ensure projects are being executed on time and within budgetPlay a major role in the development of planning and reporting systemsUndertake regular audits and inspections as requiredPrepare technical reports relating to mine plans and performanceFormulate Annual business plan as per business objectivesStatutory compliance managementImplementation of global industry benchmarksEquipment scheduling as per business objectivesCarry out transformation projects as per requirementsRequired QualificationsA Bachelors Degree in Mining Engineering combined with a minimum of 17-20 years of relevant experienceExtensive experience in an open pit Iron Ore Mining environment, of which a minimum of 7 years should have been in a leadership roleManagerial experience managing interdisciplinary teams of over twenty individuals, preferably in high tonnage operationsPersonally committed to the highest safety and environmental standards, and able to take full responsibility for safety at the operation with minimum supervisionWritten and verbal communication skills in French would be an assetTechnical Competencies & SkillsProject Management Skills: Basic project management skills to plan, organize, and execute tasks efficiently; Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlinesProblem-solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions; Critical thinking to troubleshoot issues that arise during operationsAdaptability and Flexibility: Capacity to adapt to changing work environments, schedules, and job requirements; Flexibility to work in different locations or climates, depending on rotational assignmentsComputer Proficiency: Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; Basic knowledge of computer programming or scripting may be beneficial in certain rolesEnvironmental Compliance: Understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements; Knowledge of environmental management practices to minimize impactTechnical Documentation and Reporting: Proficiency in preparing technical reports and documentation; Accuracy in recording data and maintaining detailed recordsCross-functional Collaboration: Ability to collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds; Clear and concise communication of technical informationQuality Assurance and Control: Understanding of quality standards and procedures; Attention to detail to ensure qualityProcess Optimization: Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement; Experience with implementing optimization initiativesSeniority levelDirectorEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionManagement and ManufacturingIndustries: Mining #J-18808-Ljbffr
