What The Role Is All About The Junior Accountant plays a critical role as a member of the Finance team by supporting all aspects of accounting across the entire organization. Reporting to the Controller, the Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory, Fixed Assets and the General Ledger. Responsibilities Provide support to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Controller in day‑to‑day accounting operations Clear account reconciliations and conduct inventory analysis Assist with mentoring other accounting staff members and contributing to WinSport’s coaching culture as required Liaise with company auditors and prepare year‑end audit working papers Assist with the annual operating budget process Prepare month‑end closing entries Reconcile credit cards and supplier statements Work as a member of a strong team, assisting and supporting other areas of accounting and WinSport as required Take on projects across the organization in relation to process efficiencies in Payables & Cash management Demonstrate safe work practice at all times by adhering to all WinSport safety policy and procedures and ensuring one’s own safety is preserved along with the safety of co‑workers and WinSport guests Be mindful of all safety hazards/concerns within the work environment and report all safety issues to appropriate individuals Review all OH & S notices/meeting minutes as they are distributed or posted on OH & S boards in each department Ensure safety orientation is completed with all new or returning employees covering all required safety hazards and specific safety training for specific areas Qualifications Post secondary education in accounting or related field Proven ability in a computerized accounting environment Experience overseeing team members Strong computer, accounting software and Internet skills Proactive, optimistic with a proven ability to multitask Experience in updating accounting processes and procedures Great Plains Software experience is an asset Work Conditions Office environment, may be required to work remotely May be required to work some weekends and evenings Overtime as required Prolonged periods of time working in front of a computer screen What We Can Offer You If an unforgettable experience and working alongside an amazing team weren’t enough for you, WinSport offers its team members some really great perks; free hill passes, reciprocals at other resorts, food, beverage and retail discounts, and a gym membership, just to name a few things that will make you love it here.
