Job Code: 20138 Location: Providence Care Hospital Union: OPSEU 4104 Paramedical Wage: $61.51 - $79.74 Posting Period: October 23, 2025 - October 29, 2025 Job Overview The Psychologist will work collaboratively with the interprofessional team and community partners to provide psychological services to individuals with mental illness who have come into conflict with the law, aiming to reduce the impact of their illness and enhance quality of life. The role includes evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, research, program evaluation, and training of graduate students and residents. Adherence to Providence Care policies and the regulations of the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario is required. Education and Experience Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from a CPA or APA accredited university program CPA and/or APA accredited residency, preferred Registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (Good standing) for practice with Adults in Clinical Psychology and Forensic/Correctional Psychology Minimum two years of experience providing psychological services to adults with serious mental illness, preferred Positions Duties & Responsibilities Provide specialized consultation and assessment services, including clinical diagnosis, using interview techniques and standardized methods of observation, measurement and analysis. Offer psychological treatment and individual rehabilitation programs, informing clients of services and providing choice in treatment. Deliver treatments to ameliorate psychiatric symptoms and facilitate personal, social, educational and vocational development and adjustment. Conduct research and program evaluation services by developing protocols and conducting outcome studies related to psychiatric and behavioural disorders. Supervise the work of non-registered psychological personnel assigned to the service. Enhance community linkages and continuity of care by liaising with partners to optimize client support and identify regional development needs. Facilitate re-entry and re-integration of persons with severe mental illness into the community through partnerships with community health providers. Contribute to service planning and development, attend program clinical and staff meetings, and serve on committees and working groups to plan, evaluate and enhance services.
