Overview Full-time, permanent day shift position (6:00 am start) with opportunities for overtime and weekend work. Construction industry experience required. Minimum 3 years commercial driving experience required. Don Fry Scaffold Service Inc. has been in the business for over 20 years, helping construction crews safely complete projects across the GTA. We are looking for a DZ Driver (Construction Sites) to transport scaffolding and other materials safely to our sites across the GTA. You’ll work with the Logistics Manager to organize your daily schedule, a small team of drivers, and report to the General Manager. You’ll prioritize safety, follow all rules of the road, load/unload vehicles, and ensure the correct materials arrive at the correct sites on time, complying with our policies and procedures. Responsibilities Operate flatbed vehicle weighted for D class license to safely pick up and deliver scaffolding gear and equipment, performing pre-trip inspection of vehicle Record information on pick-ups and deliveries such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs, or any problems, and report accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle issues or damage Safely load and unload materials onto the trucks, check load-related documentation to ensure completion and accuracy, and maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service / repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations Communicate effectively with the site crews, customers, and co-workers Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly secured Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift (e.g., daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.) Qualifications Minimum 3 years’ commercial driving experience required Experience loading and unloading vehicles accurately and safely Valid DZ Driver’s License Clean driving record and ability to produce a clean driver’s abstract Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs when loading and unloading Valid crane operator’s license OR willingness to train for and obtain this Ability to complete criminal background checks as needed per specific client sites High school diploma Experience engaging with customers / clients on site, or working in a customer-facing role Benefits and Work Environment Health benefits, group RRSP contributions, annual work boot reimbursement, and team lunches / celebrations Paid time for overtime and weekend work where applicable Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience, with opportunities for scheduled raises How to Apply Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete person– not just a resume.
