The primary purpose of this role is to service customers by planning and booking loads to move trucks from the assigned region to various locations across the USA and Canada. This requires accurately predicting the availability and potential of assets in the assigned region and acquiring freight to utilize those assets effectively for the company's best interest. The role is accountable for coordinating assets to meet the needs of clients, drivers, and the company, maintaining exceptional contact with clients, and managing relationships with assigned clients. Additionally, this position supports Business Development and Customer Service by managing internal freight overflow and direct freight sourced from clients. That involves tracking and reporting, order entry, information processing, operations support, and customer relations. Working closely with the entire Customer Service team, the incumbent will solve problems, realize opportunities, and ensure thorough and timely communication with all coworkers. The role also contributes to other departments by providing insights into customer trends and requests, thereby supporting increased business activity and margin creation. Responsibilities Day to Day Customer Contact Single point of contact between their assigned customer(s) and Searcy Trucking – ensuring that the customer’s needs are properly understood and served. Handle customer inquiries off the general queue in a pleasant and efficient manner. Communication between Customer Service and the customer includes, (but is not limited to): order acceptance, tracing, claim awareness / facilitation, cost recovery, trailer pool management, solving ad‑hoc requests and updating internal and external persons with required information Ensure that the customer understands their own needs and that they receive consistent service. Operations Responsibilities Establish resource availability through the analysis of drivers, tractors, and trailers in the region and interpret what restrictions and opportunities they present. Work with other planning regions to develop an overall strategy for execution. Communicate the needs of the customer effectively to Dispatch, Drivers, Billing, Brokerage etc. Understand freight rates, negotiate spot market business, and direct long term inquiries to Management and correct Departments. Support the Operations team to achieve departmental goals, such as increased miles, driver utilization, reduction in empty miles, etc. Recognizing the need to adjust plans as required is critical. Participate in on‑call rotation as required. Relationship Building Responsible for fostering a strong relationship with all Searcy clients who require day‑to‑day service from our company. Contribute to an environment where customers can comfortably and confidently place orders for their transportation needs. Volume Is required to know their customer’s general trends of business volume, the destination mix, and any changes or unusual developments. This includes the status of their competitors, and general business conditions as they apply to the customer’s business, and how they relate to our business with them. Administrative Duties Accurately enter and rate orders into TruckMate Critique and approve orders daily, moving them to “Ready to Bill” status for billing. Work with the team to develop and improve Key Performance Indicators. Responsible for ensuring that any new or updated information on carriers, customers, freight or equipment is properly captured according to SOPs in the various systems to transact properly.
