Services and specialties include emergency medicine, intermediate-level critical care, medical imaging, internal medicine, hospitalist medicine, geriatric medicine, neurology, gastroenterology, palliative, psychiatry, oncology, outpatient clinics, and an extensive surgery program with anesthesia, orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, and plastics specialties. We are currently hiring for Casual Clerks to join our Cardiology team at Burnaby Hospital located in Burnaby, B.C. TransLink Pass Subsidy: Save on commuting costs with a 50% subsidy on TransLink passes Additional employee discounts and perks available Eligibility based on employment status Detailed Overview Under the general direction of the Cardiology Supervisor, the Cardiology Clerk schedules outpatient appointments and performs receptionist and clerical duties. Responsibilities Schedules and books outpatient appointments for assigned area(s) utilizing computerized systems by receiving appointment requests, making follow-up appointments and adjusting arrangements in accordance with patient and facility requirements. Performs receptionist duties such as answering the telephone, taking and relaying messages and greeting visitors to the department. Contacts physicians and patients to advise when appointments have been arranged and other related changes; transmits test results to physician's offices, other hospitals and nursing units as appropriate, according to established procedures. Completes patient registration documentation; updates test orders, distributes patient reports to physician boxes, performs filing, photocopying and typing duties as assigned. As required, maintains payroll sheets for all staff; inputs hours into the payroll system; produces payroll sheets for review by the supervisor. Maintains inventory of office supplies and orders as required. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience Grade 12, plus two (2) years recently related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
