Role Overview As Acorn’s Vice President of Marketing, you’ll shape and execute our global marketing strategy to drive demand generation, brand growth, and customer engagement. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is pivotal in positioning Acorn PLMS as the category leader in AI‑driven corporate learning. You’ll lead a high‑performing team of marketing professionals, set clear commercial goals, and partner closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to ensure marketing is a key driver of revenue growth and brand equity. 5 Key Capabilities Brand Narrative & Corporate Communications: Define and steward the brand narrative and corporate communications to build reputation and trust, drive demand, and align stakeholders around growth. Level – Proficient: At the proficient stage, you lead company narrative and communications to enable growth. You set messages, brief executives, run public and investor relations, handle crises, refine plans using reputation data. Category Strategy & Go‑to‑Market Leadership: Define and lead category strategy and go‑to‑market plans to align teams, optimise investment, and deliver sustainable growth in revenue, market share and profitability. Level – Proficient: At the proficient stage, you set category vision and go‑to‑market, aligning Product, Sales and Finance. You govern launches and pricing tests to optimise spend and deliver profitable growth. Marketing Organisation Design, Budgeting & Governance: Design and govern the marketing operating model, investment priorities and decision rights to optimise ROI, ensure accountability and compliance, and drive sustainable growth. Level – Advanced: At the advanced stage, you redesign the operating model, clarify decision rights, and allocate budgets with ROI rules across brands and channels. You run auditable governance for faster, predictable growth. Product Marketing & Market Intelligence: Define product marketing strategy and translate market, customer and competitive insight into positioning, pricing and go‑to‑market priorities to drive category leadership, accelerate adoption, grow revenue and inform the long‑term roadmap. Level – Advanced: At the advanced stage, you turn intelligence into positioning, pricing and market plans. You align Product, Sales and Customer Success to enable and allocate, winning categories, accelerating adoption, shaping roadmap. Revenue Engine Alignment & Performance Analytics: Align commercial and product teams and analyse revenue performance to improve forecast accuracy, guide investment, and deliver predictable, profitable growth. Level – Proficient: At the proficient stage, you align commercial and product teams on goals and terms. You run regular reviews, keep data clean, and analyse bottlenecks to guide spend and forecast growth. Key Responsibilities Define and execute Acorn’s global marketing strategy to drive growth and category leadership. Lead brand strategy, product marketing, digital marketing, and communications functions. Partner with the executive team to align marketing goals with revenue and customer acquisition targets. Oversee the development and execution of demand generation programs that deliver measurable pipeline growth. Champion the use of data, analytics, and automation to enhance marketing performance and attribution accuracy. Develop Acorn’s content and communications strategy to strengthen thought leadership in corporate learning technology. Shape pricing, positioning, and go‑to‑market strategies in collaboration with Product and Sales. Manage and mentor a growing marketing team, fostering creativity, accountability, and performance excellence. Represent marketing performance and insights at the executive and board level. Compensation One of our core values is transparency and we believe in being upfront with candidates throughout the recruitment process, to make sure expectations are aligned. This role sits within a salary range of ($250k - $300k CAD OTE) + 9% RRSP Contribution, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Required Experience 12+ years in B2B SaaS marketing, with at least 5 years in senior leadership (VP or Head of Marketing) roles. Proven success driving brand growth and pipeline generation in a global SaaS environment. Deep understanding of demand generation, digital channels, and full‑funnel performance marketing. Strong strategic and analytical capabilities with experience managing multimillion‑dollar budgets. Exceptional leadership and communication skills with experience scaling high‑performing teams. Experience working in fast‑paced, growth‑stage technology businesses. Comfortable operating with high autonomy and influencing at board level. Why Join Acorn PLMS? Being able to capitalise on this is key to our ongoing success and a large part of the reason we can work at the pace we do. Please note candidates will need to be in commuting distance to our offices based in Gastown, Vancouver or Sydney CBD.
