Job Details Position Title: Non-full-time Bioscience Professor Status: Part-time and Partial-load Professors (multiple positions) Hours: 1-6 hours per week (Part-time) and 7-12 hours per week (Partial-load) Faculty/Department: Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Campus/Location: North Campus Salary: Academic starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience as per the Academic Collective Agreement. Position Type: Non-Full-Time Professor Contract Work Locations: North Campus Job Family: Health Sciences Deadline to Apply: November 14, 2025 Job Posting: 10/28/25 Department: Faculty of Health and Life Sciences About the Non-full-time Bioscience Professor Role The Professor, Biosciences (Non-Full-Time) will teach and support courses across the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences, including Anatomy, Physiology, Pathophysiology, and other bioscience-related disciplines. Professors are responsible for developing engaging curriculum, integrating innovative pedagogy, and supporting experiential learning through lectures, labs, simulation, and applied research. The role involves teaching, evaluating, mentoring students, and contributing to program development in alignment with Humber Learning Outcomes and sector standards. Teach a range of bioscience courses (e.g., anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, microbiology) at diploma, postgraduate, and degree levels. Develop course materials, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with curriculum outcomes. Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently in accordance with Humber’s academic regulations. Mentor and support students in their academic, clinical, and professional growth. Contribute to curriculum renewal, program review, and innovation in teaching practice. Engage in scholarly and/or applied research activities where appropriate. Foster a learning environment that reflects Humber’s values of equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging. About You You are passionate about teaching and advancing bioscience education at Ontario’s largest polytechnic. You bring deep subject-matter expertise, a commitment to student success, and the ability to integrate experiential and interdisciplinary learning. Education Master’s degree in a related bioscience discipline (e.g., Anatomy, Physiology, Biomedical Sciences, Health Sciences, or equivalent) required. PhD (or equivalent terminal degree) preferred. Experience/Skills Demonstrated teaching experience at the post‑secondary level (college/university) in anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, or related sciences. Experience in lab‑based teaching, including cadaver or advanced bioscience laboratory environments, strongly preferred. Evidence of curriculum development, innovative pedagogy, and assessment strategies. Experience with simulation, interprofessional education, or applied research considered an asset.
