Group Facilitator YW Calgary is looking for a Group Facilitator to support our Counselling and Personal Development (CPD) department, providing effective counselling services for the prevention and treatment of domestic violence. The role requires registration with a professional body such as CAP or ACSW under the Health Professions Act. Schedule 15 hours per week – Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. What We Offer Truly rewarding work; contribute to lasting, positive change for individuals and our community. What You’ll Do Facilitate both preventative and treatment group programs aligned with the YW Practice Framework. Provide evidence‑based counselling intervention to assigned target groups using the current program curriculum. Provide resources, support, and community referrals to clients as needed. Support client intake processes and facilitate group programming. Plan and deliver programming in a variety of community settings. Document client progress, participation, goals, and outcomes. Apply non‑violent crisis intervention and de‑escalation strategies in crisis situations. Apply knowledge of legal/court proceedings and community resources. Work independently and as part of a team. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities. What You’ll Bring Registration with a professional body such as CAP or ACSW under the Health Professions Act (mandatory). Degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Nursing, or related field. Assessment, crisis intervention, and supportive counselling skills. Previous experience facilitating and co‑facilitating group programs. Specific training in domestic violence; experience delivering evidence‑based interventions. Knowledge of the impacts of abuse, violence, and trauma; recovery; crisis intervention; and problematic substance use intersection with mental health. Experience with CBT, DBT, Mind/Body therapies, Mindfulness Practices, and post‑modern platforms such as Solution‑Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Strengths Based approaches. Working knowledge of Client Management Software and remote service delivery tools. Completion of ASIST and First Aid (required upon commencement of employment). Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle may be required for travel.
