The Role The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records. This position is responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of US GAAP, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail. What You Do Month-end Close & Adjustments Complete month-end adjustments, including prepaids, intercompany transactions, and accruals. Prepare and post credit card accruals and actuals. Record payroll journal entries and perform reconciliations. Reconcile general ledger accounts regularly, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved promptly. Prepare correcting entries and adjustments as necessary. Ensure all transactions comply with US GAAP. Audit and Compliance Assist with year-end audits by preparing accurate and detailed audit schedules. Collaborate with auditors to provide requested documentation and clarifications. Other responsibilities Support process improvement initiatives within the accounting department. Perform ad hoc financial analysis and projects as assigned. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct) and Microsoft Excel. Understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles. Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada and must successfully obtain and maintain a Reliability security clearance.
