Campus Location: New Westminster Position Summary The Financial Services Clerk reports through the Senior Accounting Supervisor and assists the Assistant Controller. Duties include full-cycle accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entry preparation, vendor invoice processing, expense claims, corporate credit card transactions, and reconciliation of receivables. The clerk ensures accurate and timely processing in compliance with JIBC policies, procedures, and GAAP, and maintains positive communication with internal departments and external vendors. Key Responsibilities Process vendor invoices, expense claims, credit card transactions, and accounts receivable invoices. Verify documents, review payment requests, generate cheques, post purchase orders, process debit payments, and apply payments to accounts. Prepare journal entries related to the position’s responsibilities. Maintain accurate financial records, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with policies and GAAP. Communicate effectively with internal departments and external vendors. Qualifications & Requirements Completion of an accounting certificate or diploma from a public Canadian post-secondary institution, or equivalent courses. Minimum one year of accounting/finance experience. Proficiency in Excel and strong data entry skills. Good working knowledge of AP and AR accounting principles, audit trail requirements, and sales tax rules (Provincial and Federal). Basic understanding of GAAP and financial statement implications. Ability to formulate journal entries, set priorities, multitask, and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and stakeholder resolution skills. What JIBC Offers Compensation includes benefits and vacation for the duration of the role. Salary Range $50,534.82 – $57,185.10 (BCGEU Pay Grid 11). Position eligible for a Service Improvement Allocation of $41.65 bi-weekly. Work Arrangements Term, full-time (35 hours per week). Must be within commutable distance to New Westminster Campus; hybrid work arrangement may be considered.
