Join to apply for the Code Consulting Co-op Student - Winter 2026 role at Stantec Your Opportunity We are actively seeking a Code Consulting Co-op Student to join our growing Building Specialty Services team in our Markham, ON offices for a 4‑month term commencing in January 2026. Your Key Responsibilities Assisting the Code and Life Safety team with various project tasks, including analysis to applicable Building and Fire Codes and calculations related to spatial separation, occupant load, and egress analyses. Assisting in the preparation of technical reports and assessment of drawings. Assisting in project administration including formatting and compiling reports, gathering information, managing data files, drafting proposals, and drafting correspondence. Participating in site visits, when required. Your Capabilities and Credentials Be curious about how buildings and people behave in the event of fire. Have an interest in working within a multi-disciplinary architectural and engineering team. Have strong verbal and written communication skills. Have strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and work in a team environment. Be proactive and creative. Be a fast learner, with the ability to adapt. Be familiar with Building and Fire Codes and related standards (preferred). Education and Experience In progress toward earning a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Engineering, with a minimum of 2 years of undergraduate coursework. Various disciplines can pursue Code Consulting as a career. Past and current team members include graduates with degrees in Fire Safety/Protection, Architecture, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Systems Design, and Chemical Engineering. Pay Transparency In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
