Our hours count–gain valuable teaching experience Oxford Learning Don Valley is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for roles in our learning centre. If you love working with students, enjoy teaching language skills, and want to help others build their academic confidence, this position is perfect for you.Position OverviewAs a Teacher-Tutor at Oxford Learning, you will have the opportunity to work with Elementary students in reading, writing, math and French and/or with High School students in math (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, and English. Our Tutors do not have to worry about lesson planning, as all lessons are pre-planned. You will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods, allowing you to focus on what you do best – teachingPosition RequirementsAvailability during after-school and evening hours (3:00 pm - 8:00 pm)Commitment through to the end of the 2025-26 school year (June 26th), with the possibility of continuing through the summerIn-person instructionAbility to commute to the designated location (no relocation packages available)Mandatory vulnerable sector screeningJob TypePart-timeSalary$18 - $20 / hour (depending on teachable subjects and grade levels)ScheduleEveningsMonday to ThursdaySaturday availability (an asset but not necessary)EducationBachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant fieldThird-year university students with tutoring experience will be consideredWorking towards or having a teaching certification is an assetGood knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculumKnowledge of high school sciences and math an assetAbility to teach French an asset but not requiredExperienceSome experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) levelStrong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understandingThe ability to teach French is also highly desiredAbility to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a timeResponsibilitiesTeach up to 4 students at a timeFollow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophiesComplete daily student communication updatesMaintain a friendly and professional demeanour at all times (create a fun learning environment)About Oxford LearningOxford Learning is a Canadian supplemental education provider helping students get better grades since 1984.
