GIS Specialist (Telecommunications) – Remote, Canada Part-Time Casual | Flexible Hours | Opportunity for Full-Time About the Role As a GIS Specialist, you will be responsible for drafting, updating, and maintaining telecommunications infrastructure within SpatialNet—a critical requirement for our network planning, design, and permitting activities. You will work closely with our design team to ensure all data is captured accurately and aligned with industry and company standards. Key Responsibilities Draft existing and new telecommunications infrastructure into SpatialNet following engineering, municipal, and internal standards. Interpret redlines, field notes, civil plans, and as-built documentation for accurate asset placement. Update spatial records to support network builds, relocations, and upgrades. Collaborate with project managers, designers, and external stakeholders as required. Ensure quality, consistency, and completeness of all spatial data. Support continuous improvement of internal mapping workflows. Required Skills & Qualifications Proficiency with SpatialNet (3rd-party telecom GIS application) – mandatory. Experience with AutoCAD or BricsCAD for drafting and design. Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure (aerial, underground, fiber, coax, or copper). Excellent attention to detail, spatial awareness, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Preferred Experience (Assets) Rogers or Telus design/drafting experience. Knowledge of municipal permitting standards and utility coordination. Experience interpreting telecom field measurements, plant records, and construction drawings. What We Offer Fully remote position (anywhere in Canada).
