We are seeking a skilled and motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will manage your own geotechnical engineering projects with the support of senior engineers, EITs, and laboratory technicians. You will report directly to the Principal Engineer and Senior Geotechnical Engineer. Work Environment & Flexibility This Position Offers a Blended Work Environment, Including Home office Professional services office (Downtown Lake Country, BC) Field locations Geotechnical laboratory (Lake Country, near Carrs Landing) Candidates living in Vernon or Kelowna will benefit from short, reverse-direction commutes. You will also set your own work schedule, and overtime will be supported by contract. Approximate Work Distribution 80-95% office/home office | 5-20% field work Key Responsibilities Lead geotechnical engineering tasks on a variety of project types Design new embankment dams in compliance with regulatory standards and best practices Plan and supervise geotechnical investigations (test pits, drilling, CPT, etc.) Conduct geotechnical analysis/modeling using tools like RS2, Slide2, Dips, Rocfall2, Settle3, PIX4D, etc. Perform construction field reviews Conduct in-field geotechnical testing and QA/QC activities (including temporary on-site testing facility setup) Support general engineering tasks such as inspections and emergency work Evaluate existing embankment dams for internal erosion, liquefaction, and slope stability Required Qualifications Licensed Geotechnical Engineer in Canada with eligibility for registration in BC (EGBC) Minimum 5+ years of geotechnical experience, with 3+ years in Canada (ideally in dams, slopes, foundations, etc.) Proven field experience in geotechnical construction or resident engineering Willingness to travel for field work (up to ~5 days/month in summer; more in fall) Strong communication and client-facing skills Valid BC Class 5 driver's license and vehicle Preferred Skills & Experience Desire to build a long-term career in a growing firm Knowledge of: Water Sustainability Act Dam Safety Regulation Dike Maintenance Act Related guidelines and regulatory frameworks Experience with survey equipment, drones, and bathymetric surveys Mechanical aptitude Ability to independently learn from textbooks, online resources, and technical materials Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, etc.) Proficiency with QGIS for data processing and figure creation Why Join Us?
