Job Description Senior Architectural Contract Administrator Architecture, Design & Planning Firm Calgary, Alberta Hybrid Work Model THE COMPANY A well-established, multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering practice is seeking a Senior Architectural Contract Administrator to join its Calgary team. The firm delivers projects across multi‑family, mixed‑use, commercial and other sectors, and has a strong reputation for technical excellence and collaborative project delivery. The environment is structured, professional, and quality‑driven, with a focus on delivering coordinated, constructible, and compliant solutions. THE ROLE As a Senior Architectural Contract Administrator, you will be the primary point of contact during construction for multiple large-scale and complex building projects. You will oversee the administration of construction contracts, ensure adherence to drawings and specifications, and support both internal project teams and external stakeholders through all phases of construction. You will provide technical guidance, lead site reviews, manage documentation, and act as a key liaison between consultants, contractors, and client representatives. Your expertise will help ensure that each project is delivered to a high standard of quality, compliance, schedule, and performance. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead contract administration activities for projects of varying scale and complexity Conduct regular site reviews, issue field reports, and monitor conformance to contract documents Review and process shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, site instructions, and progress claims Assess contractor performance and elevate issues as required Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients throughout construction Interpret codes, regulations, standards, and specifications to ensure full compliance Participate in constructability reviews and advise on technical detailing Maintain accurate, organized documentation and communications throughout all project phases Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members involved in construction administration Support project close‑out, including deficiency reviews and final documentation WHAT YOU BRING 10+ years of relevant architectural contract administration experience, ideally in Canada Strong understanding of building systems, technical detailing, and construction methods Deep familiarity with large construction contracts, field review processes, and industry best practices Working knowledge of the Alberta Building Code and relevant municipal standards Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and specifications Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities Experience with REVIT, AutoCAD, and construction administration platforms (e.g., Newforma, Procore) CET, Architectural Technologist, Intern Architect, or equivalent technical background is considered an asset Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and maintain professionalism under pressure Based in Calgary to attend site visits and meetings regularly and at short notice WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package Flexible, hybrid work model Opportunity to work on high‑profile local and national projects Supportive team culture with long‑term growth potential Access to multi‑disciplinary collaboration and strong internal technical resources WHAT TO DO NOW If you're an experienced architectural contract administrator who excels in the construction phase and enjoys being a trusted advisor on complex projects, please submit your resume and project list for confidential consideration or contact Laura Shalev at Keywords Construction Contract Administrator, Contract Administrator, Calgary, Lethbridge, Red Deer, Alberta #J-18808-Ljbffr
