The Opportunity Infrastructure Services is looking for a motivated candidate to join the team as an Intermediate Technical Analyst, Field Engineering Support. This role involves providing field engineering repair, troubleshooting, installation, and support to all technology pillars. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of field engineering technical support experience and demonstrated ability to perform system-level/end point troubleshooting and technical hardware modifications. What can I expect to do in this role? Under general direction, you will provide field engineering repair and support for all technology pillars within Infrastructure Services, offering technical guidance to end‑user personnel. Duties and Responsibilities Provides infield technical diagnostic troubleshooting, service, repair, and installation for: mobile workstations, ICC cameras, portable radios, radio chargers, and body‑worn cameras. Networking: patching, port configuration, device turn‑up, cable testing, Wi‑Fi/LAN, and equipment components. Voice Services: phone repair/replacement, equipment moves, changes, and building paging repair. CCTV/AV: troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of CCTV cameras, associated microphones, and equipment components. Supports remote and onsite testing, maintenance, and installation of IT/Telecommunications infrastructure and equipment. Identifies potential system problems, collaborates with technical experts and colleagues to formulate solutions. Provides timely service support to address end‑user needs. Provides on‑site support for equipment additions, changes, and moves. Uses test equipment and analyzers for support and repair across technology pillars. Coordinates with external vendors as required. Assists in developing technical documentation and procedures. Records services performed using asset management and work order software. Performs preventive maintenance tasks as needed. Maintains technical knowledge of emerging trends and products. Maintains cleanliness of infrastructure equipment and areas. Performs typical duties inherent to the position or other assigned duties. Education and Experience University or College Degree/Diploma in Information Technology, Engineering, network, radio, or related IT field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum 3 years of field engineering technical support experience. Experience with asset management software and asset/work order functionality. Support knowledge of P.25 Astro Mobile and Portable Radios and in‑vehicle technology equipment such as MWS, radar, ICC, and BWC. TCP/IP networking fundamentals, including basic switch configuration, security protocols, and web technologies. IP Voice, CCTV/AV endpoints (phones, cameras, monitors, workstations). Microsoft Windows/Servers and corresponding architecture. Demonstrated ability to perform system‑level/end‑point troubleshooting and technical hardware modifications. Physically able to perform manual labor tasks, work in confined spaces, and use ladders and lifts. Good oral and written communication skills. Valid Class “G” Driver’s license in good standing and capability to obtain a Toronto Police Service “Blue Card.” Willingness to be on‑call for after‑hours support on a rotating basis.
