Our client is a Toronto-based firm that enters into strategic relationships with established financial institutions and alternative finance companies to build and scale investment portfolios. Job Description We are currently looking for a Junior Data Analyst / Software Engineer with 1-2 years of experience to support the monitoring and continued growth of loan and investment portfolios. The analyst will work extensively with and support the finance and accounting team as well as senior management. Core Requirements SQL proficiency (joins, CTEs, window functions) Python for data analysis (pandas, scripting) AWS hands-on experience (Lambda, S3, Redshift), from coursework, bootcamps, certs, or internships Experience in Excel CS / Engineering / Data Science degree Be able to work independently as this is remote What You Will Do Write SQL queries analyzing loan portfolio data Build / maintain dashboards and websites (Metabase / Tableau) Maintain AWS data pipelines (Lambda functions, S3 loads) Automate Excel reporting using Python Split is ~60% analytical / reporting, ~40% AWS infrastructure maintenance. A small team – will be the sole pure technical member. Key Responsibilities Process and analyze large structured and / or unstructured datasets to extract predictive signals. Present research and portfolio analysis results to key internal stakeholders. Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases / data systems. Assist in various analysis required to support regular financial reporting obligations (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual) and support processes to do so. Perform performance measurement analysis, including detailed return, attribution, risk, valuation and income analysis of investment portfolios. Support ongoing data management initiatives to drive process improvements across the firm. Provide solutions and ideas to business partners to solve complex modeling and other analytic problems. #J-18808-Ljbffr
