p>Flight Operations Engineering manages and analyzes aircraft performance and provides technical support to Flight Operations for procedures and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. They analyze operational data and implement new tools that improve flight operations efficiency. They manage the aircraft database and maintain existing tools to ensure flight safety.Managing the design, development, and analysis aspect of aircraft performance and weight & balance data, including the policies, standards, and related procedures to meet regulatory requirements and best practices.Maintaining the aircraft performance and weight & balance calculation software.Performing technical reviews of airport analysis and aircraft engine-out procedures.Performing technical reviews of aircraft en-route driftdown and depressurization procedures.Conducting route studies to support the planning of the commercial network.Monitoring the fuel consumption of aircraft and calculating the performance factor used for flight planning purposes.Exploring new fuel efficiency initiatives and monitoring the existing initiatives through flight data analysis.Supporting the electronic flight bag system administration, including hardware and software management.Maintaining the navigation database content and the navigation charts coverage.Managing technical projects and areas of responsibilities as directed by the Chief, Flight Operations Engineer.Communicating with suppliers concerning performance, weight & balance, fuel efficiency, and related tools.Monitoring evolving technologies for performance, weight & balance, and fuel efficiency.Providing expert technical consultation and training to flight operations and other services, as required, in matters involving aircraft performance, weight & balance, fuel efficiency, and other related topics.Developing methodologies, tools, and databases to continuously improve flight operations safety and efficiency.Developing and providing training concerning aircraft performance, weight & balance, electronic flight folder, or any other related topic.- University Diploma in Mechanical / Aeronautical Engineering OR 5 years of technical experience in the industry (i.e., mechanical technician or avionics technician).- Experience in the aerospace industry or airline operations is an asset.- Strong conceptual, analytical, and planning skills.- Knowledge of flight mechanics, aerodynamics, and aircraft performance.- Sound computer skills, including programming knowledge.- Pilot license is an asset (PPL or CPL).- Oral and written fluency in French and English.
* A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
