We are always on the hunt for our next great Business Development Representative at D2L.Job specifics - This is a hybrid role, working out of our Kitchener office 3 days per week.Job SummaryThe Business Development Representative is responsible for promoting D2L Products and Services, establishing customer relationships, and providing qualified leads to the Sales teams. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the company’s solutions and competition, with a keen interest in the eLearning industry. Primary market focus is the education and corporate sectors.We are looking for an energetic, polished individual with exceptional communication skills and a talent for relationship building. The role involves capturing and qualifying leads, managing a sales pipeline, and achieving quarterly revenue targets. This position offers a challenging career opportunity and potential for advancement within D2L.How will I make an impact?Be a subject matter expert and advocate for prospecting strategies and CRM processesMentor teammates to develop Business Development skillsAssist in training and onboarding new hiresContribute to maintaining the BD team course in SparkDevelop effective sales kits with BD leaders and MarketingExceed objectives within assigned territoryUnderstand and communicate D2L's value proposition and create solution vision with prospectsParticipate in outbound calling campaigns to generate opportunitiesCapture and qualify leads from tradeshows, webinars, inbound calls, and other marketing initiativesFollow-up with existing D2L contacts and convert them into sales prospectsDistribute leads and arrange qualified appointments for Sales ExecutivesMonitor and respond to D2L Sales inbox and website inquiriesCreate and update lead generation emails and phone scriptsUpdate customer interactions in the CRMComplete sales reports and present findings to executive managementConduct market research and stay updated on product, competitors, and industry knowledgeRepresent D2L at occasional tradeshows; some travel may be requiredWhat You’ll Bring To The Role1+ years experience in Business DevelopmentPrevious experience in eLearning, the education sector, enterprise software and/or high tech solutions providers preferredInterest in pursuing a sales career within a fast-paced, changing environmentPro-active and goal oriented with the ability to maintain customer activity to generate leads and meet quarterly objectivesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent time management with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work independentlyStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence decision makersAbility to work individually and in a teamDegree or diploma in Business, Marketing or relatedAI Skills:Experience using AI-powered sales engagement and CRM tools to optimize prospecting and outreachAbility to leverage AI tools to accelerate email drafting, lead research, and outreach personalizationComfortable interpreting AI-generated insights and using them to prioritize outreach and follow-upCurious mindset with a passion for experimenting with tools that improve workflow efficiency, including AI-based solutionsThe expected base salary range for a new hire in this role is listed below. The annualized base salary offered is determined by each candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, training and experience. It is aligned to ensure both internal and external competitiveness using market data for the geographic location and industry. As part of the total compensation at D2L the role may be eligible for additional benefits including a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, Variable Incentive, and more.Base Salary Range$50,000—$70,000 CADDon’t meet every single requirement?
