You’ll spearhead and execute day-to-day IT operations while also shaping the systems, security, and infrastructure that support our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable systems and doesn’t shy away from jumping into a support ticket or configuring a server when needed.This is an in-person role in our Sherwood Park, AB office.ResponsibilitiesSystem Setup and Deployment: Overseeing and participating in the deployment, configuration, and secure implementation of computers, hardware, and software across the organization.IT Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute IT roadmaps that support long-term organizational goals and scalability.Technical Escalation Point: Serve as the final escalation for IT tickets and complex technical issues requiring deep troubleshooting.IT Infrastructure Management: Maintaining and documenting our IT environment, including servers, backups, and on-call coverage, ensuring stability and performance.Network & Security Oversight: Managing local networks, server infrastructure, and security systems through patching, monitoring, and maintenance.Cloud Services Integration: Working with platforms like AWS to implement scalable, secure cloud-based solutions.Governance and Risk Management: Applying assurance principles to maintain compliance, manage risk, and support governance frameworks like SOC 2.Technical Support Escalation: Handling high-level IT tickets, server setups, software updates, and ensuring daily IT operations run smoothly.Software & Systems Oversight: Administer tools including Microsoft 365, Active Directory, SharePoint, N-Central, Proxmox, Fortinet, and Sentinel One.Team Work: Mentoring junior IT team members, supporting training and development.Qualifications3+ years of experience in an IT Administrator, Systems Engineer, or IT Operations Lead role.Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools, especially SharePoint and Active Directory.Strong experience with N-Central, Proxmox, Fortinet, and Sentinel-One.Experience working with internal networks, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and backup systems.Post-secondary education in an IT-related field is an asset.Bonus points if you haveExperience supporting internal security programs or audits (SOC2, ISO27001, etc.).Knowledge of remote desktop software and ability to provide recommendations for improvements.Experience leading cybersecurity training programs and ensuring company-wide cybersecurity compliance.Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications are preferred.Compensation$90,000 - $100,000 a yearSalary ranges are based on experience, reflecting the unique skillset each individual brings to the role.Job ID: #T202503-28CIAWhy join usAt BIS, we pride ourselves on being very entrepreneurial in nature.
