Building Systems (HVAC) Technician Shannex Incorporated Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia. Job Description We are searching for a Building Systems (HVAC) Technician to join our Property and Support Services Team. Meaningful Benefits Comprehensive health and dental benefits plan including an Employee and Family Assistance Program Access to virtual healthcare 24/7 for FREE through the group health benefit plan RRSP program with employer matching Vacation accrual (begins immediately) and travel insurance Free onsite parking Access to thousands of vendors offering perks and discounts through our WorkPerks program Access to continuing education and training through Shannex’s Centre of Excellence Opportunities to be part of sector innovation and continuous improvement initiatives Recognition and Rewards for service excellence and safety Responsibilities Complete Preventative Maintenance of Building Systems as per the schedule Support the increase of overall equipment reliability with the goal to decrease energy consumption and maintenance costs Conceptualize, participate in the design, and implement building systems solutions Provide review and commissioning support for new construction as required Remain abreast of and apply advancing technology as applicable, initiating and facilitating changes to operations, maintenance and equipment procurement processes Provide technical analysis, develop alternatives (cost estimates, feasibility, specifications, and interpretation of requirements), and support for technical problem resolution on existing and new systems Participate in sourcing and procurement of building systems equipment Coaching, directing and training maintenance personnel across corporate divisions to support organizational strategies and goals related to building systems Ensure resident safety by following and applying all standard operational procedures and safe work practices Qualifications Building Systems Technician (HVAC &R) with minimum of 3 years experience or minimum 4th Year Refrigeration Mechanic with HVAC experience or equivalent experience in any of those areas 3–5 years working with building systems A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care About You In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring the above qualifications and a commitment to professional service.
