Our client, a well-established and respected general contractor, is seeking an Assistant Site Superintendent to support the successful delivery of a large-scale commercial construction project in Calgary. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced project team and gain hands-on exposure to all aspects of field construction management.As the Assistant Superintendent, you will play a key role in supporting the Site Superintendent with day-to-day site coordination, safety enforcement, scheduling, and quality control. This position is well-suited for an ambitious construction professional looking to take the next step in their career toward a full Superintendent role.ResponsibilitiesAssist the Site Superintendent in overseeing and coordinating all on-site construction activities.Monitor daily site operations, ensuring adherence to project schedules, drawings, and specifications.Support implementation of safety policies and procedures; conduct site inspections and toolbox talks.Track and document manpower, deliveries, and subcontractor performance.Maintain accurate daily logs and assist with RFIs, change orders, and site reports.Communicate effectively with subcontractors, trades, suppliers, and the project management team.Participate in site meetings and contribute to problem-solving to keep the project on track.Ensure quality standards are consistently met throughout the project lifecycle.Qualifications3-7 years of construction experience, with exposure to commercial or institutional projects preferred.Previous experience in a site coordination, foreman, or assistant superintendent role.Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety protocols.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.Proficiency with MS Office; experience with construction management software is an asset.Valid driver's license and ability to work full-time on-site.
