Overview of The Role

Within Corporate Internal Audit team at Saputo, we are currently seeking an Internal Auditor to actively participate in the planning and execution of mandates in the following key areas:

  • Operational Audits;

    Conduct Operational and Financial Compliance 52-109 audits:

    1. Under supervision, plan and execute audits; evaluate risks, identify internal controls to mitigate risks, design audit procedures, and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
    2. Formulate, document, and discuss deficiencies with the control owners, develop conclusions, identify root causes, and provide recommendations for control and process improvements.
    3. With support, draft audit report findings that document the results and findings of the engagements.
    4. Assist in the planning and execution of the risk management assessments:
      1. Identify and update key risk indicators, analyze for trends in risks, discuss with key stakeholders, and make recommendations on risk levels;
      2. With supervision, identify mitigations that address risks identified;
      3. Support the preparation of periodic risk management updates or other related reports;
      4. Collaborate on risk assessments; li>
    5. Participate in advisory mandates providing recommendations on control design or operation to help improve efficiency and effectiveness of the control environment.
    6. Support the Internal Audit team with various ad-hoc and special requests from Management, and the Audit Committee related to governance, risk, and controls.
    7. Assist in various strategic initiatives of the Internal Audit department to help achieve the Company’s objectives.
      1. Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, or in a related field.
      2. 2 years minimum of experience in audit; internal audit; operational audit experience is a plus.
      3. Strong critical and analytical skills, and sound judgement required (analyze processes and related internal controls).
      4. Provide clear, concise information to others via verbal or written communication in both English and French, Spanish is a plus.
      5. Understands Internal Audit’s purpose and role within the organization.
      6. Must understand generally accepted auditing standards, common audit procedures and techniques and risk management frameworks; li>
      7. General knowledge of the purposes and concepts of accounting standards: li>
      8. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, basic experience in data analytics techniques and tools such as Power BI is a plus.
