Overview Logistics Coordinator/Material Handler Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a passion for the seamless flow of goods? This role is the central point for coordinating all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring that materials and products move efficiently through the supply chain. The role is approximately 70% logistics coordination—scheduling shipments, preparing documentation, and communicating with carriers—and 30% material handling, including operating a forklift to manage the physical flow of goods within the facility. This position supports operational success and client satisfaction and offers a varied workday for someone who combines planning with practical skills. This role is a cornerstone of the Manufacturing & Logistics operations, requiring a candidate who can manage multiple priorities, ensure on-time delivery, accurate inventory movement, and compliance with shipping regulations. Responsibilities Logistics Coordination (70%) Participate in daily production and shipping meetings to align on priorities and schedules. Schedule and coordinate shipments with couriers and LTL carriers to ensure timely delivery. Prepare all necessary shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs) and courier labels, with accuracy. Generate and provide reports on Proof of Deliveries (PODs). Prepare customs documentation with understanding of HS Tariffs and Country of Origin requirements; collaborate with Project Managers and Customer Service Representatives to ensure accuracy. Provide continuous updates to internal teams regarding shipping activities, timelines, and status. Generate and deliver timely freight quotes to stakeholders. Update and maintain freight costs within the company ERP system (Pace). Secure and confirm delivery appointments with clients or receiving departments as needed. Advise carriers and couriers of pick-up times and ensure shipments are ready upon arrival. Generate packing slips within the ERP system to accompany outgoing orders. Material Handling (30%) Operate a forklift to move raw materials and finished products between departments, maintaining production flow. Load, unload, and stage skids and materials using the forklift. Store materials in designated warehouse areas and maintain organization. Build custom boxes and crates as needed to protect products during transit. Scan and load packed crates and products onto trucks for shipment. Fulfill orders by picking, packaging, and preparing materials for shipment. Qualifications A valid and current forklift operator license is mandatory. Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check. Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator, Shipping/Receiving Clerk, Material Handler, or in a similar role within a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Demonstrated experience with preparing shipping documentation, including BOLs and customs forms. Experience with an ERP system is strongly preferred. Solid understanding of supply chain and logistics operations. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving materials as required.
