Building Inspector (pathway from a construction trade)Locations: Cornwall & DevonSalary (Cornwall) – up to - £33,000 (depending on experience)Salary (Devon) - up to - £36,000 (depending on experience)Company Car / Car Allowance, flexible schedule, hybrid working & generous benefits packageThe RoleWe are looking for individuals with previous on-site experience, possess a Level 3 NVQ in a construction trade and who are interested in developing into a Registered Building Inspector.Due to our ambition and growth we will consider candidates nationwide to support our regional teams across England. You will receive a structured, support and training plan, attend regular CPD sessions and receive support from your own team to develop under the supervision of experienced Building Inspectors.Stroma Building Control is one of the largest Registered Building Control Approvers across the country. Boasting a national footprint of more than 14 offices with 150+ qualified surveyors, bringing with it a talented and diverse workforce. Over 70% of our work relates to domestic and residential development and we are seeking candidates with existing knowledge of such projects to become part of our team and work towards becoming a Class 2 Registered Building Inspector.Previous experience working in a construction-related tradeLevel 3 NVQ in a construction tradeThe willingness to complete a building control competence route in order to apply foryour registration as a Registered Building InspectorTo work towards an understanding of relevant legislation, technical guidance, and regulatory Code of ConductA full UK driving licenceThe ability to provide an efficient and friendly service to internal and external customersTime management skills and the flexibility to undertake all duties requiredMicrosoft office knowledgeExperience in liaising with Building Inspectors to ensure compliance on siteExperience of assessing and interpreting architectural design plansYou will receiveAnnual salary up to £33,000 / £36,000 (depending on experience and location)Further salary uplift on achieving Class 2 registration as an RB28 days annual leave (plus bank holidaysLong Service HolidaysBonus scheme – performance based and payable twice per yearCompany Pension schemeTeam events scheduled throughout the yearPeople are at the heart of Stroma and our staff are the foundation of this business.
