Position Details Job Title: Health & Safety Account Manager Position Openings: 1 (existing position) Status: Permanent, Full Time Location: Home Office – candidates must reside in the Durham Region or Northumberland County, Ontario, maintain a private and safe workspace, and have a high‑quality internet connection. Travel Requirement: Up to 50% of the time – includes overnight stays depending on project needs. Acting as a relationship manager with external organizations, the Health & Safety Account Manager develops and executes plans for assigned accounts, identifies opportunities where WSPS solutions can address client health and safety needs, and communicates client needs internally to ensure successful implementation of services. Responsibilities 1. Planning (20%) Understand the client’s needs and develop client health and safety plan(s) in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Identify potential new opportunities with new and existing clients by following business and industry trends. Provide data, insight, and market intelligence to the Territory Manager to align client plans with broader WSPS business plans and Ministry focus areas. Contribute to advancing WSPS reach into target sectors while aligning with the strategic direction of the business. Articulate WSPS’s value proposition in support of the client’s business growth and stage of their health and safety journey. 2. Relationship‑Building / Early‑Stage Consulting (60%) Drive new client growth and meet client reach targets. First point of contact for early‑stage health and safety consulting using the WSPS client assessment tool, including site walkthroughs and assessments. Maintain and deepen relationships with new and existing clients by aligning appropriate H&S solutions to meet their desired outcomes. Ensure successful planning, implementation, and delivery of H&S solutions, working closely with health and safety consultants. Regularly develop client plans to align with evolving client needs. Prepare and present effective proposals to new and existing clients. Engage in strategic health and safety discussions at various organizational levels. Confirm contracts are scoped appropriately (pricing, deliverables) and seek support from the Territory Manager when needed. Prepare/negotiated cost‑effective contracts under WSPS guidelines in collaboration with the Territory Manager and Consulting Services Manager. Promote and represent WSPS at events, trade shows, and speaking engagements as a brand ambassador. Use project coordination/management techniques to assist in delivering services and completing assigned projects. Include account representatives in client engagements as directed. 3. Internal Transition, Support and Administration (20%) Work toward individual and team objectives that align with market and product innovation division goals. Provide regular status updates on projects to ensure deliverables are met. Track performance results and metrics for projects and team functions. Coach other team members in subject matter expertise. Collaborate with other teams to foster a collaborative environment. Participate in team and departmental meetings, performance reviews, and continual improvement plans. 4. Contributes to a Healthy and Safe Work Environment (at all times) Adhere to WSPS policies, procedures, process fact sheets, guidelines and business rules. Promote a healthy & safe culture by modelling and following WSPS health, safety and wellness policies. Act as a role model internally and externally by demonstrating knowledge of health and safety and wellness practices. Skills and Expertise Minimum Certificate, Diploma, and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Safety or related discipline and/or equivalent experience. Fundamental health and safety knowledge. 3–5 years related health and safety industry experience. Strong relationship management skills. Relationship‑building, listening, and presentation/facilitation skills. Ability to work with a team to cultivate customer relationships. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience developing customer health and safety plans. Knowledge of health and safety legislation and technical standards. Understanding of a managed systems approach. Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Health and Safety or related discipline and/or equivalent experience. Certification in CRSP/CRST, CMC, CHSC and/or PMP. 5+ years related industry experience. Additional Requirements Valid driver’s license. Access to a vehicle that meets minimum MTO safety standards. Original criminal background check issued no more than 30 days prior to first day of employment. Residence in the Durham Region or Northumberland County, Ontario, with a private workspace and high‑quality internet connection.
