Environmental II

Overview Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for a dependable, highly motivated individual for the position of Environmental Services II (cleaner/housekeeper trained to work in healthcare) that is dedicated to both high-quality work and safety. AHS will provide the necessary training to safely clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, office areas, and other common staff/public areas in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices. Shift schedules may include a combination of days, evenings, nights, and weekend shifts. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently offers a Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 per year, payable on an hourly basis for all hours at the basic rate of pay. Responsibilities As an Environmental II, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with intensive or specialized cleaning within a hospital or facility, including but not limited to operating industrial cleaning equipment, performing thorough cleaning of floors, ceilings, windows, and managing hazardous waste. You may also provide training or orientation to Environmental staff. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Knowledge and operation of a computer including Microsoft Office. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements for the duration of the shift. Physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs. Additional Required Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, able to follow oral and written instruction. Basic knowledge and operation of a computer and a smartphone. Dependable and able to work with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications: Previous cleaning experience preferred. Experience performing cleaning duties in a healthcare environment would be an asset.
