Employee Engagement Specialist, Human Resources Job Type: Contract – Full Time (12‑month duration) Salary: $92,151.00 – $115,189.00 per annum plus comprehensive benefits Location: 7120 Hurontario Street, Mississauga (Hybrid – workszone off‑site and on‑site) Work Hours: 35 hours per week About Peel Region: Peel Region serves the communities of Brampton, Mississauga, and Caledon with essential services that improve the quality of life for over 1.5 million residents. Responsibilities Drive the Peel Celebrates Employee Recognition Program, including awards, long‑service recognition, and employee appreciation initiatives. Coordinate engaging employee events such as Long‑Service recognition, Take Our Kids to Work Day, and other appreciation activities. Support the Your Voice Program by administering employee surveys and translating feedback into actionable insights for business decisions. Collaborate with Communications to ensure HR messages are delivered through social media, newsletters, leadership communications, and Peel’s intranet. Provide expert advice and support to HR leadership on employee engagement, communications, and change‑management strategies. Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to align HR programs with organizational goals and best practices. Continuously assess and enhance employee engagement initiatives, ensuring they evolve with company needs and employee feedback. Lead development of new processes and practices that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of employee engagement programs. Qualifications University degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field. 5 + years of experience in employee feedback, employee recognition, or communications. Expert knowledge of employee feedback systems, tools, and techniques. Expert knowledge of employee recognition systems, tools, and techniques. Ability to craft clear, audience‑specific messaging, including web content creation. Experience using project management and change‑management principles. Strong research, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent verbal, written, and facilitation communications. Advanced computer skills, including all Microsoft Office applications.
