We are currently seeking a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Vancouver office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC and other aspects of mechanical engineering for buildings. They should demonstrate expertise in buildings decarbonization or deep retrofit projects, high energy efficiency projects, and strong abilities in cultivating relationships with clients. The candidate should be driven to develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges as well as accompany the clients through the design process for an array of different building types in institutional, commercial, and municipal infrastructure. While working from the Vancouver office, you'll be able to take advantage of a hybrid work model.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and review plumbing and HVAC schematics.
  2. Prepare or supervise the design of buildings including commercial, residential, and institutional projects.
  3. Perform and review heating and cooling ventilation calculations.
  4. Work with the project team from the conceptual and preliminary stages of design through to the completion.
  5. Ensure compliance with the quality assurance and control program.
  6. Liaise directly with clients and maintain business relationships including business development.
Qualifications
  1. A recognized mechanical engineering degree and a P. Eng. designation.
  2. 10+ years of directly related experience in mechanical buildings engineering including HVAC, plumbing, and building services.
  3. Self-motivation and strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  4. Demonstrate a commitment to client service.
  5. Knowledge of Canadian codes and standards.
  6. Knowledge of commercial building automation systems and DDC control systems.
  7. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and commercial HVAC load calculation software.
  8. A valid BC driver's license.

The expected salary for this position is from $105,440 to $131,800 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills, and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
