Senior Reactor Physicist – AtkinsRéalis Located in Mississauga, ON. The Senior Reactor Physicist works with the Reactor Core Physics Department to support design and operation of CANDU nuclear power plants. Responsibilities Perform and/or supervise finite‑reactor‑core, kinetics, advanced‑fuel‑cycle, and Monte‑Carlo calculations. Prepare inputs and run reactor physics computer codes. Develop, adapt and modify FORTRAN codes for specific applications. Develop methodologies, perform analyses, document results in technical notes and reports, and present at meetings. Estimate and monitor schedules, assign work, and respond to changing project needs. Propose and develop approaches for reactor physics tasks and analysis basis plans. Ideal Candidate Masters degree or higher in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent. Experience with CANDU reactor physics. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (advanced degree experience considered). Experience with WIMS, DRAGON, RFSP, DONJON, and/or MCNP. Experience with nuclear data library creation. Experience with few‑energy‑group constants and uncertainty assessment. Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments; programming in FORTRAN and C++ is desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work under pressure, perform varied assignments, and respond quickly to changing needs. Strong problem‑solving skills, budget and schedule awareness, and commitment to a formal QA environment. Position Details Seniority level: Mid‑Senior. Employment type: Full‑time.
