With over 200,000 residents, it is a community rich in culture, dining, and welcoming neighborhoods—ideal for living, working, and exploring.Job SummaryThe Quality Control Inspector is responsible for validating materials and components to ensure compliance with work instructions and specifications.AccountabilitiesInspect and monitor quality requirements during various stages, including first-off, in-process, receiving, and final inspection, in accordance with company policies and customer specifications.Perform accurate mechanical, physical, and visual inspections of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies.Verify dimensions using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and CMM.Create dimensional reports from CMM data and other measuring tools.Document, report, and archive inspection results and purchase orders.Conduct product identification and traceability activities.Sign off on MCS for completed operations and coordinate with customers and BWXT Witness for sign-off when required.Interpret customer drawings and technical information.Assess part compliance, initiate NCRs, and follow through to closure.Safely handle components, including the use of lifting devices.Assist with quality surveillance of suppliers as needed.Knowledge & ExperienceTechnical Diploma in Quality or related field.0-2 years of experience in quality control or receiving environment.Proficiency in interpreting complex manufacturing drawings with GDT specifications.Knowledge of quality programs like ASME, ISO 9001, CSA N285.0, and N299 is an asset.Expertise in using measuring tools such as verniers, calipers, and micrometers.Understanding of calibration controls for measuring equipment.Familiarity with NDE techniques such as liquid penetration, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, and radiographic testing is an asset.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team and independently.Problem-solving skills using systematic approaches.BWXT confirms this is a current vacancy.
