Technical Writer

We’re looking for a full‑time Technical Writer to join our Sherwood Park, AB team. This role suits a professional passionate about user experience and technical communication. In This Role, You Will Be Expected To Develop step‑by‑step user guides, FAQs, and instructional documents to help users effectively utilize our software Write and edit copy for user interfaces (UI) to ensure clarity, consistency, and user‑friendliness Create and update software system‑generated e‑mail notifications to maintain clarity and consistency with our brand voice Produce tutorial videos and visual guides that simplify complex concepts for users Collaborate directly with clients and end users to gather feedback and translate their needs into clear, intuitive product design and documentation Generate and deliver in‑person or online presentations or webinars on software modules and features to clients, users, and team members Collaborate with graphic designers, software developers, and other team members to ensure documentation aligns with product goals and user needs Maintain and update a knowledge base of documentation and FAQs as our software evolves Apply UX writing principles to create user‑centered, easy‑to‑understand content Follow and contribute to our software style guide You Might Be The Right Fit If You Have a strong ability to quickly learn complex software systems Pay meticulous attention to detail Possess exceptional writing and editing skills Can break down complex concepts into clear and concise explanations Inspire trust through openness, honesty, and transparency in communications Work well both independently and as part of a team Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in English or Communication Studies (with a major in Professional Communications) Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe products Experience with AI tools and technologies, or a strong passion for learning and working with AI Bonus Points If You Have UI/UX design experience is a strong asset Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 a year Job ID #T202510-15CTW Why join us At BIS, we pride ourselves on being entrepreneurial and open.
