The Physiological Laboratory Technician I - Respiratory position provides pulmonary function testing to outpatient clinics including but not limited to Pre- and Post-Transplant Clinics, Cystic Fibrosis Clinic, Interstitial Lung Disease Clinic, Asthma Clinic, Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic, Pre-Operative Clinics, Hematology Clinics, Neuromuscular Clinics, and the Post COVID clinic. This position also provides services to inpatients at the University of Alberta Hospital and the Stollery Children's Hospital. As a Physiological Laboratory Technician I, you are an integral part of the pulmonary function team responsible for collection, analysis, and interpretation of pulmonary data. The successful incumbent needs to be able to work highly independently and use critical thinking skills, organizational tools, and have skills in prioritization. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Description:As a Physiological Laboratory Technician I, you are an integral part of the Pulmonary Function team, responsible for collection, analysis, and interpretation of Hemodynamic and Radiographic data from Cardiac Catheterization procedures in a multidisciplinary team environment. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program. Active or eligible for registration with Canadian Association of Cardiopulmonary Technologists (CACPT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous pulmonary function testing experience. Connect Care experience. Must be able to lift and carry 10-15kg regularly. Must be able to participate in hands-on care of patients (i.e.: transfers, bariatric clients, bending, twisting, walking distances).
